Good news! The gang’s all down from Jomsom and we are all sitting in an internet cafe sweating golfballs, unlike in Mustang. Many came to see us off. A new friend, the District Medical Officer, Dr. Poudel, has asked me to look into finding the hospital a Gamow Bag for treating altitude sickness patients.
He reports that several times per year, he has victims of this condition and they must be held for up to a day without treatment due to treacherous flying conditions. This is essentially a “blow-up tube” in which you place the patient under pressure and it is maintained via a foot pump. So, if any of you have one gathering dust in your attic, please let us know!
